MILL TO REHABILITATE IN PRATS DEL LLUÇANES
Previously we found an uninhabited farmhouse consisting of ground floor and first floor. The mill was in a good state of conservation and, in it, the course and the waterfall, deposits and other components can be seen. The project is very respectful of the singular elements and all the constructive solutions go through recovering the essence of the original building. Even so, the rehabilitation is comprehensive, updating the mill in livable conditions, without neglecting the aspects of comfort and historical feeling. The organization of the house is a ground floor for the living room, dining room, kitchen, access and service; and the first floor, with a large room and two bedrooms, a suite and a bathroom on the ground floor. The most important features of the restoration is the recovery of the wooden deck and beam deck, to reinterpret the original roof. The armature is the reinterpretation of the wood and brass ceiling where a mixed reinforced concrete slab and wooden beams are created, connected by pins. A systematic recycling of all materials is carried out; the buckles are used to make door step lintels, containments The covering of the new walls is made with colored natural mortar and finished with different textures. Energy and supply management is carried out by balancing the provision of self-sufficient systems with external contributions.
